A DEEP DARK BLUE

October 8, 2018

I've been researching for a 'Blue' family living room recently.  It seems to be very 'In' just now but this classic colour has been on trend for some time and is unlikely to be unpopular anytime soon.

Farrow and Ball's intimate and cosy Hague Blue paint is featured in the picture to the bottom left and right (thanks Pinterest).

A deep dark blue,  this strong colour takes its name from the fantastically coloured woodwork much used by the Dutch, and still works wonderfully to ground skirtings or as an accent colour on the walls when teamed with Farrow and Balls 'Borrowed Light' (2nd from the right below).  It has green undertones of this timeless, deep and dramatic blue means it sits as happily outside as it does in small dark rooms.

If you want to help your fireplace to blend in but not disappear completely, however, create a monochromatic look by painting the fireplace in a colour from the same family as the wall colour but a few shades lighter or darker.  If you want to help your fireplace to blend in but not disappear completely, however, create a monochromatic look by painting the fireplace in a colour from the same family as the wall colour but a few shades lighter or darker.
